MORGAN YNGVE
Morgan Yngve, born 1971 and both lives and has his studio in Nyköping, about 100 km south of Stockholm. Morgan's great interest in art has always been there and more or less permeated his entire upbringing. It is through both craftsmen and artists in the family and its nature that the foundation for the curiosity and desire that Morgan began to paint and sculpt.
At the age of 10, Morgan received his first art lessons from an artist Jan Yngwe a bon vivant who taught Morgan a lot about figurative painting but also abstract thinking. At a young age, he also learned techniques in, graphics, croquis, calligraphy and drawing.
Morgan Yngve started painting in his first studio in 1994 and was also one of the founders of the art group Art Extreme (1994-1997) with Alexis Oyola and Jon Brint, whose focus was expressional art.
Morgan and Alexis Oyola instead started their own collaboration and In 1997 the group created a public decoration Ask & Embla by the Nyköping river. They shared several studios with several exhibitions together until 2011, Then they both started working in their own studios but still have a broad collaboration together and have done so for almost 12 years.
THE MISSION
Since the early 1990s, Morgan Yngve has been searching for an understanding and has made various attempts to immerse himself in abstract expression, which often made him doubt his painting. The constant search for an understanding has been a kind of foundation for his painting for almost 30 years, where the process and a certain form of control has been a must in his foundation in his creative process.
Ask and Embla, sculpture by the Nyköping river,by Morgan Yngve and Alexis Oyola was completed in 1997.
Morgan tried several times to break through a kind of invisible barrier where he wanted to go from the figurative motif to the abstract motif and through several desperate attempts that at the time only touched a brief kind of pre-understanding which then tend to disappeared.
In early 2005, Morgan locked his studio to finish his painting, as he no longer had the energy to seek his abstract path. It was then in a kind of hibernation that Morgan "found" his abstract painting and in the autumn of 2005, Morgan Yngve painted "Me & My Friend" and became the end of an attempt and the beginning of a new journey.
A SUMMARY
Morgan's paintings, from the autumn of 2005 to the present day, have certainly many times been highly figurative, but with a clear line of abstract influences. With his series "Blonde Gods from the North" 2010-2021 and "The Meeting and the Language" from 2021 to the present day,
Morgan's desire to portray his paintings as abstract paintings has taken on a clearer line. When Morgan paints today, he sees his figures as whole and a natural way of relating to a fantastic world of colors and shapes, where light and dark, soft and hard, work together and give life to their own process.
Since 2022, Morgan Yngve run a gallery, Gallery Y located in the heart of Nyköping's cultural center where his partner, both in art and in life Rosamy Cotino also has studio. She´s an active artist, and the couple collaborates a lot since 2021 with several exhibitions both in Sweden and internationally.

MORGAN YNGVE
Over the years Morgan has constantly been searching for meaning, and a constant exploration for a forgotten heritage. Morgan's paintings are often based on relationships either in the present or in his family's history. He often seeks for an encounter or a feeling of one to depict. It can be in nature or in the city but also in the meeting between light and darkness. Morgan's paintings are created with a conviction to touch and his inspiration is drawn from his heritage and from our society's constant transformation.
